legals and a little bit more.

The ‘Legals and a Little Bit More’ package is a more personal version of a registry-style wedding. While the ceremony is based on a standard script, unlike a registry wedding you can choose the location and I also offer the ability to personalise the ceremony with some optional inclusions: personal vows, ring exchange, music, or a reading by a loved one.

Inclusions:

  • Standard ceremony script with optional personalisations

  • Delivery of wedding ceremony by Pip on your wedding day

  • All legal paperwork completed and lodged with Births, Deaths and Marriages

  • Commemorative certificate presented to you on the day, and legal certificate ordered from Births, Deaths and Marriages to be posted to you

  • Package available within 5km of Melbourne CBD; venues outside of this radius may incur travel fees

Investment: $750

Did you know that to get married at the Melbourne registry office on a Friday - Sunday you will pay $450 - $550? Traditional style ceremony rooms not your thing? For a little extra, you choose a ceremony location that you love, and I create and deliver a ceremony with a little more heart!

  • If you want to get legally married in Australia, you will need a Commonwealth Registered Marriage Celebrant (or a religious minister, but if you’re on this page I will assume that’s not what you are looking for!).

At a minimum, a celebrant will arrange your marriage paperwork and orchestrate a legal minimum ceremony, then lodge your paperwork with Births, Deaths and Marriages so you marriage can be officially registered.

BUT a great celebrant will do so much more than that! They will:

    • work with you to create a bespoke ceremony

    • provide you with ideas and inspiration for creating a memorable ceremony

    • provide support for writing your vows (and maybe even print them for you, so you don’t forget them!)

    • be a calming presence in the lead up and on the day

    • chat to your other vendors on the day to make sure everything goes off without a hitch (think: discuss music cues with the live band and letting the photographer know when to expect the big moments in the ceremony)

    • and so much more!

  • The legal requirements for getting married in Australia are the same in all states. There is a few things to be aware of, so I recommend checking out my blog for a more detailed answer.

  • Firstly, if you are planning a wedding in Melbourne and looking for a marriage celebrant, then you will be absolutely spoiled for choice! We have so many wonderful, creative celebrants in Melbourne creating personal ceremonies to suit any style.

Who you choose are your marriage celebrant is one of the most important decisions you will make in your wedding planning, and it is important to find someone who you trust, and who you think will do a good job representing who you are as a couple.

How do I find a celebrant who is a good fit, I hear you ask?

I suggest scoping out potential celebrants online first, then meet with a shortlist in person or on zoom, and see who you click with!

  • Once you have a date and venue locked in, I would recommend trying to book in your preferred vendors as soon as possible! Start with the big ones, such as celebrant, photographer, florist and music.

Great wedding celebrants in Melbourne are in high demand, so you need to get in quick to book the team that you want with you on your wedding day.

Some celebrants will be booked out 12 -18 months in advance, particularly for popular dates. Still it never hurts to ask - send an enquiry to your favourite, because you never know, they might have an opening for you!

  • Great question! Prices vary greatly based on packages offered by different celebrants.

My prices vary from $600 - $1000, depending on the service I am offering. Sometimes, I also need to add a travel fee, too.

I know that sometimes you just want to know the price before you enquire, which is why I put all of my prices on my website. Check them out, and get in touch if you would like to know more

  • For the ‘legals and a little bit more’ ceremonies, they can be as quick as five minutes or as long as twenty minutes, depending on the inclusions you have selected.

For the ‘personalised’ ceremonies, these are all about whatever you would like them to be! However, they will usually go for around twenty minutes, including the signing.

  • Of course! If you are wanting live music at your wedding ceremony or having your DJ for the whole day, then I will chat to them prior to the ceremony and make sure that we have all of our cues sorted.

If not, then we can make use of either the venue sound system or my PA to play the songs you would like.

  • Yes! For outdoor wedding ceremonies or if your venue does not supply a PA, I will bring my own.

  • The legal requirements for getting married in Australia are the same in all states. There is quite a lot of information, so I please check out this blog post on the topic

  • Legally, a Comonwealth Registered Marriage Celebrant (like me!) can marry you anywhere in Australia.

Practically, I do have some limits on how far I will travel for a wedding, and depending on where your wedding is, a travel fee may be quoted.

However, if you are getting married in inner-city Melbourne or in Ballarat, then it’s a big yes from me!
